QUARTER LIFE - FASHION

When you are in a quarter life crisis, you question who you are as a person and what you want in life.
Personally, I am an over-thinker & a sentimental hoarder.

I have decided to take the fashion route more seriously than I have ever done before. As a little girl, I loved sweaters. I loved sweaters, jeans, t-shirts & jackets. I was terrible at dressing myself. I would steal clothes from my mom, my dad (his windbreakers), from my brother and just look like a hot mess. At times, I would come to school in my pajamas and I really didn't care. I went to the mall in my pajamas. I was a tomboy, never wore make-up until I was a junior in high school. It was fun while it lasted but I will only do that when I go to sleep...at least I will try.

I made a little board for myself on what I want to wear this fall/winter.

Based on My Board, I've been busy trying to sort out my closet on what it is I need to add. Like a Fall Cleaning.
I've stored away my spring clothes, made a pile to donate and a pile to throw away.

While on this journey, I've discovered that I am a true fashion hunter. I look every where that I can to find the perfect piece to add to my collection. I spend late nights just shopping online for the perfect red dress, moto jacket, and boots for the fall. It would be so easy to stick to a brand but I definitely more selective of my clothes.

I believed that the FIT is the MOST IMPORTANT element in the clothes. If the clothes doesn't not fit you, DO NOT BUY IT. I don't want to get in to the whole model issue right now, but know and accept the body that you have and learn to work with it.

I have spent years reading as many fashion styling books, most of which were incredible unhelpful to me.

As Nicki Minaj said "I am not a girl that can ever be define." I believe that is true for every girl out there. I felt that a lot of the fashion books out there on style was truly unhelpful to me because I like a lot of genres. Don't ever follow their rules, Make your Own.

And for some reason, I just have to get it out there: I HATE NOISY FASHION. By "Noisy Fashion" I mean clothes that make to much sound from the embellishments. Such as really cheap buttons that jingle or loose zippers and buckles clanking away while you walk. You might think this is silly or paranoia, but when I shop for clothes, I like to think of myself as a ninja or that I'm running away from a zombie or if I'm coming home really late at night and I don't want to wake up my parents or worse my evil dog who will bark. I want to be quiet and unhindered so I can do what I do and kick ass.

And more than ever, I buy for the longevity of the clothes. Is this dress that I can wear 2-5 years from now? Will it pass the test of time and survive the washes and wears? Your Time and Money is very important and you want to buy something that will boost you confidence and shine with you.

My Body is my Canvas and Fashion is my Art.
